Primary duties include client contact, coordination of efforts for porting and other Sequent-related activities; and System Administration and maintenance. Much of my time is spent on general problem solving and working with Sequent Support specialists to adjust system configurations or develop patches for client found bugs.

1994-95 Contract Programmer, Positive Communications, Pleasanton, CA

Worked on a wide variety of projects related to their phone sales operation for paging services. Tools used included 'C', shell script, Sybase (SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers and dblib). Projects included interfaces between their phone sales system and Windows-based credit card (PTC) and check writing (Intellicheck) programs, a system to process billing files generated by a paging service supplier, several special billing projects and adhoc reports. Also enhanced a high-speed gateway to their paging terminal suppliers.

1994 Contract Programmer, Adobe Systems, Mountain View, CA

Developed an import facility for extracting sales transaction records from data files generated daily by affiliated vendors. Software was written in 'C' using the Informix database running on a Sun workstation. Shell script was used to automate the entire process. Program thoroughly checked for and reported on data inaccuracies and reformatted transactions into output files for delivery to their central mainframed-based sales and inventory system.

1993-94 Contract Programmer, Ingres Corporation, Alameda, CA

Maintained the Ingres/Advisor customer support package which permits clients to connect via modem or telnet to use a Knowledge Base, a bug reporting and tracking system and a BBS. Applications were written in a combination of Ingres 4GL, embedded "SQL/C" & "Quel/C" and C shell scripts which included SQL queries. Responsibilities included productizing the system so that it could be deployed for other companies and adding expanded fax capabilities.

1991/93 Contract Programmer, DHL Systems, San Mateo, CA

Designed, coded in "C" and documented a communications software package for transmission of client data between Unix and IBM System/36 computers over modem and leased line connections. This system included implementation of a curses based user interface, automatic modes of operation and data translation. Also, re-wrote the proprietary Check-point Data Entry system, using "C" with the JAM screen interface package.

1991/93 Contract Programmer, Voice & Data Networking, El Cerrito, CA

Developed a custom client records, inventory and billing database for a hazardous materials storage warehouse. Product was written in FoxPro/LAN running on a 486 PC network. Reports were developed in R&R Report Writer.

Programs were written in "C" and developed under RTUX on a Motorola VME1000. Developed controller programs for a conveyor system with the master controller residing on a PC running XENIX and slaves on Intel 8044 cards, connected by a Bitbus network. Developed a data filter to translate bibliographic citations.
